We aim to ensure that:
- the contribution of academic-related and professional services (ARPS) staff to higher education is acknowledged through higher pay, better opportunities for personal and career development, improved working conditions, and an appropriate work-life balance;
- higher education institutions properly value and recognise the contribution and expertise of academic-related and professional services staff, particularly in the composition of their governing bodies.
UCU is strengthened by the increased involvement of academic-related professional services members at all levels of the union.
This site is a means for ARPS members and activists to find out what the ARPS committee is doing; access resources produced by the committee to help with recruitment and organising of ARPS staff and share best practice from branches who are supporting ARPS members.
If you would like to get more involved in the work of the committee or have a specific question on an ARPS matter, please contact the ARPS committee secretary Jenny Lennox at jlennox@ucu.org.uk.
